The Vampire Diaries is an American supernatural drama television series developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, based on the book series of the same name by L. J. Smith. The series premiered on The CW on September 10, 2009, and concluded on March 10, 2017, after eight seasons.
The fourth episode of the second season, titled “Memory Lane”, originally aired on October 1, 2010. In this episode, Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) return to their hometown of Mystic Falls, Virginia, to investigate the mysterious death of their former classmate, Vicki Donovan (Kayla Ewell). While there, they encounter Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan’s older brother, who has been living in the town under the alias “Enzo”.
